We’ve been hard at work improving the WordPress for iPhone app based on all the great feedback we’ve received from the WordPress community. Based on this feedback, and along with a few bug fixes and performance enhancements, we are introducing a host of new functionality in the forthcoming 1.2 release.

102,208 to be exact. That’s the number of people worldwide who have installed the WordPress for iPhone App in the month of August and the last week in July–very impressive! These numbers, supplied by Apple, do not count updates for people who upgraded from 1.0 to 1.1.

Just a quick update that we’ve successfully uploaded the app to the iTunes Store, and the status message “In Review” indicates that the Apple team is conducting their testing procedures. We have not been provided with an ETA — so it could get approved at any time.

The WordPress for iPhone App is nearly ready to go. It supports WordPress.com blogs as well as self-hosted WordPress.org blogs running version 2.5.1 or newer. While we wait, check out a brief video showing the App in action.
