Version 1.1 is now available in the Apple App store.
This version includes several performance improvements and bug fixes including:
- Proper handling of multi-byte / accented characters, which fixes the crashes many of you were experiencing.
- The preview system that no longer creates a temporary empty post, which may have interfered with certain plugins like Twitter Tools.
- More helpful and descriptive error message, no more PC LOAD LETTER.
If you run into any issues please let us know.
You can also track what is planned for version 1.2 via iphone.trac.wordpress.org.

Thanks a lot, finally I’m able to post images!
Woo-hoo! I had one normal blog that wouldn’t work, and a WPmu blog that wouldn’t work. They both work great now (though the mu blog needed the updated xmlrpc.php file).
Great job!

Here’s another idea for WordPress developers to create a way to get URLs for linking into posts in the WordPress app: Email.
I’m using a feedreader iPhone app called NetNewsWire that allows me to send an email link to the story I’m reading to myself. Perhaps WordPress could team up with NetNewsWire and allow me to email the link to my WordPress install, creating a draft post with the headline from the email subject and the link from the body of the email. Then I could open my drafts folder in the WordPress app and proceed to write my post and publish.
Until I get a way to get URLs into WordPress, the iPhone app is just a tantalizing dream.
Hope this helps your creative juices flow faster. Thanks for all of your hard work.

Great work on this wonderful app everyone! I know this is in TRAC, but the ability to pull down drafts from server would is a much needed feature. Many times I will start a draft of a post by just recording ideas and then adding to them/finishing the post later. I usually have multiple drafts in process at any time. The ability to add to them or work on them via the iphone would help me utilize downtime away from the computer…
Otherwise, I’m loving the app and adding it to my recommendations list. Using it across 4 different blogs I submit to. Keep up the great work!
I would like to echo one of the comments that has been made by another post
“one of the features i’d really like to see is the ability to edit draft posts that are not local. I find that I edit draft posts more often than actual posts.”
This is a key feature that is need for blogs in which a team of writers is making contributions. As the editor I find myself editing the posts of the other writers and then publishing. Without this feature I am not able to take advantage of having the application on my iphone. I was hoping to have the flexibility to edit/publish drafts that are not local eliminating the need to be at a computer and being completely mobile.
This app. also brought me back to wordpress again. Pretty nice!
Some suggestions of the top of my mind:
I would like to have more control over the photos I post though. Like setting the thumbnail size, decide where I want to put it (top, bottom, within text etc). Some sort of mini admin panel would be great as well for like comment moderation and such for us that doesn’t have everyday access to proper internet. Would rock even though if I had the access. (Also one of the reasons I love this app. since it allows me to blog without hassle).
Keep it up, good work thus far.
Great app! Brought me over from Expression Engine. Thanks!
Great work. Many thanks!

Out of nowhere – I was having a terrible time uploading photos from my phone – and then – after going over everything – I figured out that the ComicPress Manager plugin was making everything act wonky. After turning it off – everything started working hunky-dory – again.
Just thought that you would like to know.
Except for that hiccup – this app is like butter on toast (and that is a good thing).
Thanks!
